They call it mellow yellow!

The last year, I have been obsessed with mustard yellow. You see it everywhere – furniture, clothing, and event décor. Nothing says happy like an abundance of yellow! Enjoy this pictures I have found.

[colors]: mustard, pale yellows, white, gray
[sources]: bridesmaid bouquet (The Knot); journal with clasp (Etsy); place settings (Martha Stewart Weddings); pansy vase (Anthropologie); book and journal stack (Martha Stewart Weddings); ceramic fruit basket (Anthropologie); rustic cabinet (Country Living); tights and flowers (Elizabeth Anne Designs).

Let me know what color you love.

Tea Party Inspiration

One of my goals for each summer is to put on a tea party for the girls at church.  There are about 10 or so little ones who absolutely love dressing up and drinking from teacups with their pinkies out.  I’ve been brainstorming ideas for what I will do this year.

This year, I want to feature some of my favorite tissue paper pom-poms/fabric banners, candy jars, and the color combination of pinks, blues, and yellows.  Thinking through the menu: muffins, finger deserts, and small sandwiches.  Here are some pictures that are providing inspiration in my thought process.

We're Back!

Hey Folks! Bonnie (my mom) and I are back! It's been such a long time since we last touched this blog, but we are going to kick it off again.

So, since our last post, there have been several updates in our lives.  We had the chance to travel to two AMAZING antique swapmeet shows:

·      The Farm Chicks Show - Spokane, WA
We saw so many great booths at this show.  You would not believe the number of locker baskets I found! But, I did notice some great highlights from the show that are turning up everywhere – large maps, burlap everything, and large sign, light-up letters.
·      Remnants of the Past Show – San Luis Obispo, CA
This show is one of the highlights for us each year.  This year, the venue changed to the eccentric Madonna Inn.  However, this allowed for more vendors, including some of our favorites – hand carved pumpkins, glitter everywhere, and junk made beautiful.

(an update on these shows to come)

Also: Becca’s room was redecorated.  Enjoy some of these pictures.

Bonnie decided to go with neutral colors for the room, with a few pops of powder blue.

An old dresser with vintage books, my great-grandmother’s old typewriter,
my old riding spurs, and an old suitcase.

A vintage typeset drawer, found at a garage sale for $3, to display some of my favorite
jewelry pieces – one of my favorite parts of the room.

A window frame, with scrapbook paper and corks inserted into each pane, which
serve as photo boards or dry-erase boards.

And finally, the best part of the room – a paint-stenciled wall.

Well, it has been a wonderful year! Many updates are to come.
